Sunday was day one of three for the Lake Forest College women's golf team at the 2025 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletics Conference and the Foresters' round of 328 was good for second in the standings.
Grinnell College is the league leader after 18 holes with a score of 309. Lake Forest is seven strokes clear of third-place Mississippi University for Women and 21 ahead of fourth-place Illinois College.
Senior
Gabrielle Krebs leads Lake Forest and is in second place overall with a 4-over 76 on day one. Her 14 pars are two more than anyone else in the tournament and she ranks tied-for-first on the par-5s at even par and the par-4s at 1-over.
Sophomore
Libby Hearst is next on the team and 11th in the field of 50 golfers after carding an 83 on Sunday. She birdied the 468-yard, par-5 third hole, as did Forester freshman
Sophie Smith. Smith is currently tied-for-12th overall at 84, one shot behind Hearst and one ahead of Lake Forest senior
Alijah Campbell. Fellow seniors
Sydney Foulon and
Ashlyn Bhatia are tied for 15th place at 87.
Monday's second round at Birch Creek Golf Club in Union, Missouri, will begin at 10:00 a.m.
