10/4/2026 4:57:00 PM

The Lake Forest College women's golf team remained in third place but moved closer to second on day two of three at the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Championship Tournament on Sunday.

After posting a season-best score of 319 in Saturday's opening round, the Foresters were three shots better on day two. Their 316 matched the eighth-best round in team history and their two-day total of 635 tied the program record. They trail second-place Marian University by a single stroke and both teams are looking up in the standings at Aurora University, which owns a 43-shot lead. St. Norbert College is in fourth place at 642.

Paulina Molteni Posada was Lake Forest's top player on Sunday with a 3-over 75. She began the team's best individual round so far this season with a birdie and was 2-under through seven holes. After starting the day tied for 21st place, she climbed a dozen spots to ninth in the 57-player field with a 36-hole score of 158.

Four of the next nine players in the standings are also Foresters. Sophie Smith followed up a 78 on Saturday with an 81 and is tied for 10th. Amanda Adley is tied for 12th after back-to-back 80s and Libby Hearst's 80 on Sunday was a shot better than her opening round score. Hearst is tied for 14th and Eva Kennedy is a shot behind her and tied for 17th after an 81 in round two.

Monday's final round at St. Andrews Golf and Country Club in West Chicago will begin at 9:00 a.m.
