The Lake Forest College women's golf team competed in the Edgewood Fall Invite on Sunday and Monday and placed fourth at the nine-team event, which was played at Odana Hills Golf Course in Madison, Wisconsin.

Sophomore Smith carded a career-best 79 in Sunday's opening round before surpassing that with a 6-over 78 on Monday. Her final score of 157 was good for fourth place at the 66-player event and tied the 10th-lowest two-round total in program history. Smith tied for the tournament lead with four birdies at the event and she led all players at the event on the par-5s at 2-under.

Amanda Adley was next on the team and eighth overall with a final tally of 162, thanks in part to her three birdies at the tournament. Eva Kennedy placed 17th at 169 and recorded 17 birdies at the event while Natalie Meler was the Foresters' fourth player and posted a career-best score of 91 on Sunday.

The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point finished first as a team with and score of 644, which was 10 shots better than runner-up Aurora University. Judson University was third as 670 while Lake Forest's 684 was five shots better than fifth-place Carroll University.

The Foresters will play in another two-day tournament this Friday and Saturday. The Midwest Region Classic will take place at Brighton Dale Links in Kansasville, Wisconsin.
