Competition at the 2024 United States Handball Association National Collegiate Championships concluded on Sunday but not without the Foresters claiming a title.
Freshman
Emma Kinane and sophomore
Audrey Peters were ranked third in Women's Open Doubles going into the tournament but came out on top after Sunday's 21-15, 21-17 triumph over the top seeds in the final. They had already secured Handball All-America status after edging out the second-seeded duo 10-21, 21-7, 11-4 on Saturday but are now the first Forester women's doubles team to capture a national title since 2010.
Kinane is also an All-American due to reaching the semifinals in Open Singles and she was named to the all-tournament team as well.
Junior
Dylan Schmitt was Lake Forest's only other player in action on Sunday. The highest-placing member of the men's team was defeated 21-10, 21-16 in the final of the Open 9-16 bracket.
The Forester were fourth in all three team standings (men, women, combined).
