Lake Forest College had mixed results as singles bracket play began Friday at the United States Handball Association National Collegiate Championships in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The Foresters' most successful player at the tournament has been freshman Emma Kinane, who prevailed twice on Friday to advance to the semifinals in the Women's Open Singles bracket. After rolling 21-2, 21-7 in the round of 16, she dropped the first set of her quarterfinal contest 21-17 but took the second 21-12 and the tiebreaker 11-1. As an Open Singles semifinalist, she earns Handball All-American honors and is the first Forester to do so since 2018.

Sophomore Audrey Peters was also competing in the Women's Open Division but was defeated in the round of 16 Friday afternoon and fell again in the Open 9-16 quarterfinals later in the night.

Lake Forest's only participant in Men's Open Singles is Dylan Schmitt. He was defeated in the round of 16 but posted a 21-18, 21-14 victory in the quarterfinals of the Open 9-16 bracket.

Senior Collin Peters and junior Zach Dybal competed in Men's A1 Singles. Peters reached the quarterfinals before being eliminated while Dybal was knocked out in the round of 16.

After winning twice on Thursday to earn a spot in the Men's B1 Singles bracket, senior Josh Levin had his streak come to an end in the round of 16 on Saturday. On the women's side, sophomore Arielle Augustyn was also defeated in the B Singles round of 16. Freshman Miley Ashby suffered the same fate in the Women's C1 Singles Division.

Sophomore Seth Jayaprabhu and freshman Ethan Trakalov made it through the round of 16 in the Men's C3 and C4 Singles Divisions, respectively. Trakalov won again while Jayaprabhu fell in the quarterfinal round.

Schmitt will be in action again Saturday morning at 9:00, Kinane at 10:00, and Trankalov at 11:00. Kinane is also still alive with partner in Open Doubles with partner Audrey Peters and they will play their semifinal match Saturday at noon.
