Becky Esrock is a native of St. Louis, Missouri, and attended Whitfield School, where she played soccer, volleyball, and basketball all four years. She helped lead the Warrior soccer team to a district title as a senior and was named First Team All-State and St. Louis Class 1 Defensive Player of the Year that season.

Esrock enrolled at Lake Forest College in 2009 and is one of the most successful and versatile players in the history of Forester women’s soccer. As a forward she set a school record with 20 goals her freshman year and added 13 more as a sophomore. She was named First Team All-Midwest Conference following both seasons and added Third Team All-Region honors from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America as a freshman. After a year away from school, Esrock returned in 2012 as a defender and was named MWC Defensive Player of the Year, First Team All-Region, and Third Team All-American while helping lead the team to a conference championship, MWC Tournament title, and NCAA Division III Tournament appearance. Unfortunately, an injury ended her senior season, her second as a team captain, after just seven contests. The accolades continued, however, as she was named MWC Woman of the Year that June. Esrock finished her career ranked second in program history with 40 goals and 96 points and the Foresters were 50-26-2 overall and 29-7-2 in conference play during her four seasons.

Extremely successful in the classroom as well, Esrock was a three-time Academic All-MWC honoree and two-time Academic All-District® selection by College Sports Information Directors of America. In addition, she earned NSCAA Scholar All-America Second Team distinction and Second Team Academic All-America® accolades her junior year. The double-major in economics and international relations was also a Richter Scholar and a member of Phi Beta Kappa and earned the Herlihy Prize in Economics and the Senior Scholar/Athlete Award. She went on to a career in public finance.
