Foresters Sweep Wittenberg in Florida

Junior Ellis Lora-Arceo did not lose a game at #4 singles and the Lake Forest College men's tennis team blanked Wittenberg University 9-0 at Oak Street Park Community Center in Kissimmee, Florida, on Tuesday.

Lora-Arceo also teamed with freshman Trevor Allen on an 8-2 victory at #2 doubles. Forester sophomore Dan Pivonka and senior John Snider followed with an 8-5 triumph at #1 doubles and sophomore Nick Rehm and freshman Karl Fehn edged out their opponents 7-5 in a tiebreaker to earn the team point at #3.

Pivonka was the first to finish in singles and his 6-1, 6-0 win at the top spot in the lineup gave Lake Forest a 4-0 lead. Snider then finished off a 6-0, 6-3 victory at #3 to secure the match for the Foresters. Lora-Arceo prevailed 6-0, 6-0 at #4 and Fehn posted a 6-0, 7-5 victory at #6. Allen took the first set 6-3 at #2 but fell 6-4 in the second. He then came out on top 10-3 in the third set super-tiebreaker. Junior Dragan Trivanovic took a similar path to victory at #5, winning 6-2, 4-6, (10-3).

Lake Forest is now 4-4 overall this season and 1-1 on its Spring Break trip. Wittenberg fell to 3-5 on the year.

The Foresters will take on Juniata College at Lake Cane Tennis Center in Orlando, Florida, Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m.
