Lake Forest Blanks Penn State-Berks in Florida

The Forester men's tennis team cruised to a 9-0 victory over Pennsylvania State University-Berks on Tuesday during its Spring Break trip to Orlando, Florida. Lake Forest sophomore Ellis Lora-Arceo was one of four players with two wins in the match.

Lora-Arceo and freshman Dan Pivonka edged out their opponents 8-6 at #1 doubles to give the Foresters a 3-0 lead going into singles play. Junior Jordan Stoler and senior Derek Schaltz earned Lake Forest's first point on an 8-0 victory at #3 and juniors John Snider and Mike Riley followed with an 8-1 triumph at #2.

The Foresters also swept the singles matches, beginning with a 6-1, 6-1 win by Snider at #4. Freshman Nick Rehm's 6-0, 6-1 victory at #5 clinched the team's victory. Sophomore Dragan Trivanovic came out on top of a 6-1, 6-3 decision at #6 and Pivonka prevailed 6-2, 6-1 at #1. Riley won 6-1, 6-4 at #3 and Lora-Arceo closed out the contest with a 7-6 (7-5), 6-1 triumph at #2.

The victory evened the Foresters' overall record on the season at 5-5 while dropping Penn State-Berks to 0-4.

Lake Forest will play a pair of matches on Wednesday, beginning with Oglethorpe University at 11:30 a.m. (EST). The Foresters will also take on the College of Wooster at 7:30 p.m.
