Box Score Men's tennis player Anthony Mykhaylovskyy was named Forester
Athlete of the Week on Thursday after helping lead the team to
three straight victories in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
Mykhaylovskyy, a sophomore, started his Spring Break trip with
an 8-1 victory at #3 doubles and a 6-1, 6-3 triumph at #3 singles
in the Foresters' 7-2 win over Heidelberg University on Monday.
After Tuesday's contest against Nazareth College was cancelled
by rain, Lake Forest edged out the College of Wooster 5-4 Wednesday
morning. Mykhaylovskyy swept his matches again, winning 8-2 at #3
doubles and 6-4, 6-1 at #3 singles.
The Foresters were back in action Wednesday night and
Mykhaylovskyy was perfect once again in a 7-2 victory over Edgewood
College. He and freshman John Snider moved to 5-3 this year at #3
doubles, prevailing 8-3, and he posted a 7-5, 6-2 win at #3
singles.
Mykhaylovskyy owns the longest active singles winning streak on
the team at four matches. He and Snider have also won four
straight in doubles.
Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic
Department on Thursdays.
