Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

The Lake Forest College men's tennis team was defeated 9-0 by Wabash College and Elmhurst College on Saturday. Senior John Adams played in a pair of close contests in the first dual matches of the season for the Foresters.

Playing at #1 singles for the first time in his career, Adams fell 7-5 in the first set but took the second 6-2 against the top player from Wabash in the first match of the day. He fell in the super tiebreak, however, by a score of 12-10.

Adams also fell in a tiebreaker against Elmhurst, this time in doubles play. He and freshman Mike Riley were edged out 9-8 (7-3) at #1.

In addition to Riley, who also played at #2 singles, a pair of other Forester freshmen made their collegiate debuts. John Snider competed at #5 singles and Jordan Stoler played at #6 against Wabash. They teamed up in doubles at the #3 position in the lineup. Riley and Stoler occupied the same spots in the lineup against Elmhurst.

Elmhurst, the 15th-ranked team in the Central Region, defeated Wabash 6-3 before facing Lake Forest, and is now 2-1 on the season. Wabash is 2-2.

The Foresters will play at the University of Chicago next Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
