Box Score The Lake Forest College men's tennis team raised its record on
the season to 5-5 by defeating visiting Milwaukee School of
Engineering 6-3 on Thursday (April 15). The Raiders fell to
5-5.
The home team won two of the three doubles matches. Senior Joe Campagna (Elmwood Park, Ill./Fenwick) and junior Chris Paterakos
(Wilmette, Ill./New Trier) posted an 8-2 triumph at #2 and freshmen
John Adams (Colorado Springs, Colo./ Cheyenne Mountain) and Kevin Lasky (Piedmont, Calif./Piedmont) combined for an 8-6 win at
#3.
The Foresters were also victorious at the top four spots in the
singles lineup, despite the absence of the team's top player,
junior Jon Flaksman (Northbrook, Ill./Glenbrook North). Fellow
junior Elliot Muth (New York, N.Y./Hill School) moved up a spot to
#1 and won 6-3, 6-2. Adams recorded a 6-1, 6-0 victory at #2 and
Campagna came out on top of a 7-6 (7-3), 0-6, (10-1) decision at
#3. Paterakos posted a 6-1, 6-2 victory at #4.
Lake Forest will play four times at home this weekend (April
17-18). The Foresters can put themselves in position to qualify for
the four-team Midwest Conference Team Championship Tournament with
a MWC South Division victory over Monmouth College Saturday morning
(9:00) and the team will take on Carroll University at 3:00 p.m. On
Sunday Lake Forest will host Elmhurst College at 9:00 a.m. and St.
Norbert College at 3:00 in the afternoon.
