Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

The Forester men's tennis team raised its record on the season to 13-3 by defeating Beloit College 9-0 and Knox College 7-2 at home on Saturday (April 10). The victory over Knox lifted Lake Forest's Midwest Conference South Division mark to 2-1 and dropped the Prairie Fire to 3-10 overall and 1-1 in league play. Beloit fell to 1-5 overall.

The Foresters swept all nine matches against Beloit, beginning with the three doubles match-ups. Juniors Jon Flaksman (Northbrook, Ill./Glenbrook North) and Elliot Muth (New York, N.Y./Hill School) won 8-5 at #1, senior Joe Campagna (Elmwood Park, Ill./Fenwick) and junior Chris Paterakos (Wilmette, Ill./New Trier) teamed up for an 8-1 triumph at #2, and freshmen John Adams (Colorado Springs, Colo./Cheyenne Mountain) and Kevin Lasky (Piedmont, Calif./Piedmont) blanked their opponents 8-0 at #3.

The closest singles match was also at the top spot in the lineup, where Flaksman prevailed 6-3, 6-2. Adams and sophomore Nick Cantor (Providence, R.I./Wheeler School) did not lose a game at #3 and #6, respectively. Buccaneer players won just one first-set game against Muth at #2 and Campagna at #4 and a second-set game against Paterakos at #5.

Lake Forest fielded the same lineup against Knox and again swept the three doubles matches in convincing fashion. The score was 8-1 at #2 and 8-2 at the other two positions.

The home team fell at #1 and #6 singles but won at four spots in between. Muth prevailed 6-2, 6-0 to raise his singles recod on the season to 11-3 and Adams matched the third-longest singles winning streak in team history with his 11th triumph in a row, a 6-0, 7-5 victory. He is now 14-1 in 2010. Campagna is now 10-4 on the year after winning 6-1, 6-0 and Paterakos posted a 6-1, 6-1 victory to match Muth's 11-3 record so far this season.

The Foresters will be back on their home courts tomorrow when they host the University of Chicago at 9:30 a.m. and Carthage College at 2:30 in the afternoon.
