Box Score The Forester men's tennis team blanked host Concordia University
Chicago 9-0 on Wednesday (March 31). Lake Forest improved to 10-2
on the season while the Cougars fell to 1-2.
The Foresters won at all three positions in doubles. Juniors Jon Flaksman (Northbrook, Ill./Glenbrook North) and Elliot Muth (New
York, N.Y./Hill School) won 8-2 at #1, senior Joe Campagna (Elmwood
Park, Ill./Fenwick) combined with junior Chris Paterakos (Wilmette,
Ill./New Trier) on an 8-0 victory at #2, and freshman John Adams
(Colorado Springs, Colo./Cheyenne Mountain) and Kevin Lasky
(Piedmont, Calif./Piedmont) edged out their opponents 8-6 at #3.
The victory for Campagna and Paterakos was their seventh in a
row.
Flaksman was also victorious (6-1, 6-2) at the top spot in the
singles lineup and Muth won 6-0, 6-3 at #2. Adams did not lose a
game at #3 while extending his singles winning streak to seven
matches. Campagna prevailed 6-0, 6-1 at #4 and Paterakos matches
Adams' perfect score at #5. Sophomore Nick Cantor (Providence,
R.I./Wheeler School) won 6-4 in both sets at #6.
All 14 of Lake Forest's scheduled matches in April will be played
at home. The Foresters will open Midwest Conference play this
Saturday (April 3) against Grinnell College (9:00 a.m.) and
Illinois College (3:00 p.m.).
