The Forester women's golf team improved by 18 shots from round one to two and placed ninth at Carthage College's Firebird Fall Invite over the weekend.

Freshman Paulina Molteni Posada was Lake Forest's top player in the tournament and tied for 16th place out of 90 players overall. She birdied the first hole and finished Friday's opening round with a 10-over 82 before firing an 80 on Saturday.

The Foresters' best round of the weekend came from Amanda Adley on Saturday. Her 79 moved her up 18 spots in the individual standings and her two-day total of 170 was tied with teammate Eva Kennedy for 37th place. Sophie Smith rounded out the top four and finished eight shots and 20 places behind Adley and Kennedy.

Aurora University was the team champion with a final score of 615, which was 27 shots ahead of runner-up Hope College. Lake Forest's 680 was eight strokes behind the eighth-place team from Carthage and seven better than Judson University in 10th.

The Foresters will play a pair of one-day tournaments next weekend, beginning with the Wisconsin Lutheran College Invitational on Friday.
