Lake Forest College men's tennis player George Ciuca was named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week on Tuesday after helping lead his team to a pair of 7-0 victories to open league play on Saturday.

Ciuca, a senior, did not drop a game in the Foresters' win over Monmouth College in the morning. He and #2 doubles partner Bernardo Aguiar prevailed 6-0 and that was also the score in both sets of Ciuca's triumph atop the singles lineup.

Illinois College wad the team's opponents in the afternoon and Ciuca's results were nearly as convincing. He and Aguiar came out on top 6-1 in doubles and Ciuca rolled 6-3, 6-0 at #3 singles.

Ciuca's 64 career singles victories are tied for the third-highest total in program history while his 58 doubles wins are tied for fourth. He also ranks fourth in team annals with 122 victories overall.

MWC Performers of the Week are selected by the league's sports information directors. Ciuca, the third Forester to earn the award this season, also received it once in 2024-25.
