The Intercollegiate Tennis Association updated its rankings on Wednesday and the Forester men moved up 10 spots to 35th on the Division III national list, which included the top 75 teams in the country.
Lake Forest defeated Cornell College 4-0 in the semifinals of last Friday's Midwest Conference Tournament before knocking off Grinnell College, then the 19th-ranked team in the country, 4-3 in the final.
Players on the team own a .681 winning percentage in both singles and doubles so far this year.
The Foresters' are now 16-6 on the year with each of the losses coming to other teams in the ITA rankings. Friday's triumph over Grinnell College dropped the Pioneers to #22 and Lake Forest also has a 5-2 victory over #29 Oberlin College and a 7-0 sweep of #59 Hope College to its credit.
The Foresters will begin their first-ever appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament next Friday and will find out who and where they will play in the first fround during Monday's NCAA selection show, which will be available on NCAA.com at 11:30 a.m. (CT).
Updated ITA Rankings will be available each Wednesday throughout the season.
