Box Score The Lake Forest College men's tennis team competed in the UW-Whitewater Invite on Friday and Saturday.
The event featured nine singles tournaments and four doubles brackets.
Junior
George Ciuca advanced in the #3 singles draw with a 6-3, 7-6 (7-5) triumph in the quarterfinal round. He was defeated in the semifinals and third-place match.
In the #2 singles draw, freshman
Felipe Moraes was defeated in the first round but outlasted one opponent 7-5, 6-7 (3-7), (10-8) and defeated the next 6-3, 6-2 to come out on top in the back draw. He accomplished the same feat with senior
Daniel Tulchinskiy in the top doubles bracket. They prevailed 6-4 and 6-3 in their last two matches of the tournament. Junior
Ian Villardi and freshmanÂ
Joao Vitor Fernandes took the same route in the #2 doubles bracket, where they posted 6-3, and 7-6 (7-1) victories.
Senior
Anele Mayiga won twice in the #8 singles bracket and additional triumphs were earned by Fernandez at #4 singles, senior
Kyle Lassen and sophomore
Felipe Vazsonyi at #3 doubles, and senior
Alec Nissen and sophomore
Daniel Fotiev at #4 doubles.
The Foresters will play their only dual match of the fall this Thursday at Milwaukee School of Engineering.Â
