Box Score Four members of the Lake Forest College men's tennis team competed in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regional Tournament in St. Louis, Missouri, on Friday;
Sophomore
Bernardo Aguiar and freshman
Felipe Moraes were victorious in the opening round in singles. Aguiar blanked his opponent 6-0 in the first set and doubled him up 6-3 in the second while Moraes advanced after winning a third set super tiebreaker to finish off a 6-7 (6-8), 6-3, (10-7) triumph. Both Foresters were eliminated by players with first round byes in the round of 64.
Lake Forest also had two doubles teams in the tournament and both advanced to the second round. Aguiar and junior
George Ciuca played a pair of close matches. After coming out on top 8-7 (7-4) in their first contest, they were edged out 8-6 in round two. Moraes teamed up with senior
Daniel Tulchinskiy and rolled 8-4 against a top-16 seeded team to start the tournament before falling in the round of 32.
It was the final competition of 2024 for the Foresters, who will resume the 2024-25 season early in the spring semester.
