Box Score The Forester men's tennis team posted a 6-1 victory at Milwaukee School of Engineering Wednesday night.
The match began with the visitors taking two of three to earn the point in doubles. Freshman Joao Espoindola and junior
Ian Villardi blanked their opponents 6-0 at #3 and sophomore
Bernardo Aguiar teamed up with junior
George Ciuca on a 6-2 triumph at #2.
Espindola's 7-5, 6-1 victory at #3 singles was the first to finish and was followed by fellow freshman
Felipe Moraes prevailing by the same score at #2. The match-clinching point came from Ciuca at #4, where came out on top 6-3, 6-2.
The final three matches were decided by third set super tiebreakers. Aguiar dropped the first set 6-2, won the second by the same score, and then doubled up the Raiders' top singles player 10-5 in the super tiebreaker. After MSOE earned its only point of the contest at #5, sophomore
Felipe Vazsonyi outlasted his opponent 4-6, 6-1 (10-6) at #6.
It was the first dual match of the year for both teams and the only one of the fall semester for Lake Forest.
Select Foresters will travel to St. Louis for the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regional Tournament next weekend.
