Box Score Lake Forest College men's tennis players won championship matches at five of the nine spots in the lineup at the Midwest Conference Invididual Tournaments on Sunday.

Highlighting the list of title was the third in a row at #1 singles by senior Oleksyi Vyshyvanyuk. He defeated the top player from league champion Grinnell College 6-2, 6-0 in the final to once again stake his claim as the league's best.

Sophomore George Ciuca became the first Forester since 2017 to win a conference title in both singles and doubles. He took both sets 6-2 in the final at #4 singles and came out on top 8-3 with freshman Bernardo Aguiar in the championship match at #2 doubles.

Lake Forest freshman Felipe Vazsonyi and sophomore Ian Villardi Venturini Barbosa needed three sets to claim their titles at #5 and #6 singles, respectively. Vazsonyi won the first set 6-4 but fell 7-4 in the tiebreaker of set two. He then doubled up his opponent 6-3 in set three to take the match. Villardi Venturini Barbosa dropped the opening set 6-3 before winning the second 6-4 and the third 6-1.

Aguiar was also the runner-up at #2 singles, as were Vyshyvanyuk and junior Daniel Tulchinskiy at #1 doubles and Vazsonyi and Villardi Venturini Barbosa at #3.

The Foresters had not won five positional titles since 1999 and the only year they exceeded that total was 1978, when they took home six.
