The Forester women's golf team improved by 16 strokes from round one to round two and placed seventh out of 16 teams at the UW-Whitewater Spring Fling over the weekend.
The Tournament was played on the 5,806-yard, par-72 Riverside Golf Course in Janesville, Wisconsin.
Gabrielle Krebs led five Lake Forest sophomores at the event, finishing 16th out of 85 competitors with a 36-hole score of 165. After posting an 88 on Friday, she parred her first nine holes and finished Saturday with a 77.
Alijah Campbell was next on the team and tied-for-25th overall at 169. She accounted for one of the the tournament's two eagles when she holed out from 60 yards away on the 450-yard par-5 10th.
Lake Forest's
Ashlyn Bhatia tied for 37th with a score of 175,
Sydney Foulon was tied-for-43rd at 178, and
Niki Datangel tied for 48th at 180.
Illinois Wesleyan University won the event with a two-day score of 628, 16 shots ahead of runner-up Aurora University. The Foresters were seventh at 684.
Lake Forest will close out 2023-24 at the Firebird Invite on Monday, April 29. Carthage College will be hosting the event at The Club at Strawberry Creek in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
