The Forester women's lacrosse team defeated Cornell College 13-5 at home on Saturday.

Junior midfielder Ali Graham of Lake Forest led all players in the game with six goals, nine ground balls, six caused turnovers, and five draw controls. Her goal and ground ball totals are new career-highs and she added an assist in the contest. Graham is tied for first in the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference with 46 points on 13 assists and a team-high 33 goals this season. She also ranks second in the league with 36 caused turnovers and 52 draw controls.

Forester sophomore Krissy Kuwahara recorded the first draw control of the afternoon and scored 45 seconds into the contest. The game's next 10 goals were scored at the other end of the field, including two by the Rams, who led 2-1 at the end of the first quarter.

Lake Forest took control of the game in the second, outscoring Cornell 7-0 in the period. Kuwahara's free position goal tied the score and gave her 13 scores on the season. Junior Ryleigh Nelson assisted on goals by sophomore Jenna Doctor, Graham, and freshman Emma Sharp in a span of 2:04 and Graham struck three more times in the quarter. Sharp now has goals this spring and Nelson leads the conference with 22 assists.

Both teams scored once in the third, beginning with Cornell after less than a minute of play. Graham's fifth of the day made the score 9-3 going into the fourth.

Sophomore Savannah Frauhiger assisted on Doctor's 31st of the year and then scored herself to raise her season total to 18. After a score from Cornell, Forester freshman Daulath Kahn netted her third of the year. Graham closed out Lake Forest's scoring with 64 seconds to play and the Rams added one of their own in the final minute.

Lake Forest freshman goaltender Cecilia Adams stopped 9 of 14 shots on goal in the contest.

After Graham, junior Caitlyn Dahut was next on the team with a career-high-tying four ground balls and Kuwahara caused three turnovers.

The victory raised the Foresters' overall record to 5-7 and MWLC mark to 4-1. Cornell fell to 8-6 overall and 2-2 in the league.

Lake Forest will play a non-conference game at Aurora University Tuesday afternoon at 4:00.
