The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association announced its 2026 all-region teams on Friday and Lake Forest College's
Shannon Gibbons was among the honorees.
A Second Team All-Great Lakes Region selection, Gibbons led the Foresters with 71 draw controls, tied for the team lead with 48 ground balls, and finished second on the squad with 30 caused turnovers this spring. The senior midfielder also tied for third on the team with 44 points on 22 goals and 22 assists. Her 4.73 draw controls per game led the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference and ranked 81st nationally.
Among the top performances for Gibbons this season was a six-goal outburst against Milwaukee School of Engineering on March 25 that also featured a school record-tying 11 draw controls. Her eight ground balls against Cornell College on April 18 were just one shy of the program record and she finished with four goals, three assists, and five caused turnovers in the regular season finale against Illinois Institute of Technology on April 21.
Gibbons completed her four years at the College ranked third in program history with 148 career draw controls, seventh with 98 ground balls and 58 caused turnovers, and eighth with 83 points on 51 goals and 32 assists.
The Foresters were 11-5 overall in 2026 and repeated as NACC champions with a perfect 9-0 record in league play. Gibbons was also named NACC Midfielder of the Year after the season.
