For the first time since 2013, the Lake Forest women's soccer team fell to Carroll University on Tuesday. The Pioneers won 1-0.

Carroll struck early with a goal in the 15th minute and were able to hold the Foresters scoreless for the entire game. 

The two teams were fairly evenly matched. Lake Forest recorded one less shot than the Pioneers, but were able to hold possession of the ball for a greater amount of time. Five out of the six shots on goal for the Foresters came off the foot of senior Alyssa Xanos.

Senior Maggie Kersting was able to make four saves throughout the rest of the game.

Lake Forest plays again at St. Mary's College (Ind.) on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. (2:00 p.m. Eastern).
