Game Recap: Women's Soccer | | Arnav Pokhrel

Foresters Fall at Home for the First Time this Season

A second-half strike by the Titans gave UW-Oshkosh a 1-0 victory over Lake Forest women's soccer.

The Titans came out shooting early, as the visitors fired four shots in the first 10 minutes of the match. As Lake Forest slowly grew into the game, the visitors continued to press, winning possession in the midfield on numerous occasions. Lake Forest's only shot on goal in the first half came in the final 10 seconds, as Lola Halsband fired from distance, but the Titan goalkeeper made the stop.

The visitors dominated the first half of play, with five shots on target. This included two goal-line clearances by the Forester defense, which kept the score level at 0 going into the break.

It didn't take long for Oshkosh to get on the board after halftime. Eighty seconds after the restart, the visitors played a ball across the box that the Titans fired into the back of the net. The Foresters responded well, as Maggie Balas, Kyra Lilly, and Veronica Presberg all took shots in the minutes that followed the goal. Balas struck the post in the 59th minute after a stretch of four consecutive corners for the hosts. However, Lake Forest could not find the net and the score remained 1-0 as the final whistle blew.

Lake Forest saw seven players play a full 90 minutes in the match. Goalkeeper Sara Swenson tallied three saves in the first half, while Maddie Geasey added another in the second.

Lake Forest closes out the regular season with Senior Day as the Foresters host Knox on Oct. 31. Kickoff from Mohr Field is set for 3:30 p.m.
