Lake Forest College women's soccer player Maggie Balas was named Midwest Conference Offensive Performer of the Week on Monday.

Balas had a goal and two assists as the Foresters hosted and defeated Knox College 4-0 in Saturday's regular season finale. The junior midfielder set up the game's opening goal in the 19th minute, scored herself early in the second half, and earned her league-high 12th assist of the season at the 71:28 mark.

Balas finished the 2026 regular season and the conference leader with 30 points in all games and 19 in MWC play. Just seven players in the country have more than her 12 assists this fall and she is now tied-for-sixth in program history with 32 in her career.

The victory raised the Foresters' overall record to 14-2-2 and they will be the #2 seed in this weekend's MWC Tournament after going 7-1-1 in league play. The tourney will be played at Luther College and Lake Forest's semifinal opponent on Friday will be the winner of Tuesday's quarterfinal game between Knox and host Lawrence University.

MWC Performers of the Week are selected by the sports information directors in the conference. Balas is the fifth Lake Forest player to earn one of the league's weekly awards and the third to do so on offense.
