Lake Forest Ties for Fifth Place at Carthage Spring Invitational

The Forester men's golf team traveled just north of the state line on Tuesday and finished tied-for-fifth out of 13 teams at the Carthage Spring Invitational.

Junior Jack Dwyer led Lake Forest with a 3-over 73, which tied him for fourth place in the 75-player field. He birdied both of the par-5s as well as the par-4 seventh hole at the Kenosha Country Club. Freshman Luke Duffer also shot in the 70s, tying for 21st place overall with a 79 that included a birdie on 18.

Forester juniors Connor Lindley and Anthony Scaletta tied for 38th overall with matching rounds of 82 and sophomore Marty Swab carded an 85.

Marian University finished first in the team standings with a four-man score of 303 while Carthage was second at 310. Lake Forest's 316 was tied with North Park University for fifth place in the 13-team field.

Tuesday's competition represented the Foresters' final tune-up going into next week's St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship Tournament. The 54-hole event will be played on Monday and Tuesday at Polo Fields Country Club in Louisville, Kentucky.
