Without their top players, the Lake Forest College men's golf team placed 18th at the 43-team Midwest Region Classic on Friday and Saturday. The event was played at Brighton Dale Links in Kansasville, Wisconsin.

Eddie Hybels was the Foresters' top player in round two with a 1-under 71 after tying for the team lead with a 75 on Friday. He recorded six birdies in a 13-hole stretch on Saturday and tied for 21st in the 242-player field.

Playing as individuals, Nate Choi and George Sandercox were just one and two shots behind Hybels, respectively, and among the top 41 players overall. Brady Green was also in the top half of the field at 10-over on the weekend.

The next four players accounting for the team score were each separated by a single stroke. Andrew Singer had a final tally of 153, Grant Benishek 154, Jack Kennedy 155, and Jordan Brod-Glinter 156. 

Lake Forest's total score of 607 was just one shot behind 17th-place Elmhurst University and one ahead of three different teams. DePauw University and Aurora University's B team tied for first at 573.

The Foresters' top players will be back in action next weekend at The Grand Intercollegiate, which will be played at Grand Geneva Resort October 4-5.
