Box Score The Lake Forest women's soccer team recorded their first win of the 2021 season against Edgewood College on Wednesday. The Foresters shut out the Eagles 2-0.
The game-winning goal came in the first half of the game from a cross from sophomore Kate Giere as she cut inside and centered the ball to senior Julia Larson, who lifted it over the goalie and into the net.
In the 71st minute of play, junior Raven Dziedzinski scored an insurance goal when she drew a penalty and was awarded a penalty kick, which she used to put the ball in the low left corner of the net.
Senior goalie Maggie Kersting earned her 6th career shutout and made seven saves off seven shots on goal.
The Foresters will play their home opener on Saturday, September 4th against St. Mary's College. The game will kick-off at 1:00 PM.
