Foresters Battle Wind, Competition at Carthage Spring Invitational

The Lake Forest College men's golf team tied for ninth place at the 12-team Carthage Spring Invitational on Tuesday. The event was played in gusty winds and fluctuating sunshine and temperatures at the Kenosha Country Club in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Sophomore Jack Dwyer posted the Foresters top score and tied for 25th in the 66-player field with an 82 on the 6,685-yard par-70 course. He started his round on hole number eight and carded birdies on the par-4 18th and par-5 fourth holes.

Fellow sophomore James Johnson was next on the team with an 83 while sophomore Connor Lindley and freshman Ryan Higgins were just a shot behind him at 84. Lindley's round featured a chip-in birdie on hole number one while Higgins led Lake Forest with nine pars.

Sophomores Anthony Scaletta and Carlos Garcia Bodini posted matching 85s and freshman Marty Swab finished with a 90.

Edgewood College won the event with a score of 313, three shots better than runner-up Concordia University Wisconsin. The Foresters were tied with Augustana for ninth place at 333.

Lake Forest's next competition is Saturday's Forester Spring Invite, which will be played at White Deer Run Golf Course in nearby Vernon Hills, Illinois.
