Junior Grace Monshausen scored to give the visitors the early lead but Lake Forest was defeated 4-1 at Monmouth College on Saturday.

Monshausen's second score of the season came just eight minutes and 13 seconds into the contest but the Forester lead lasted just a minute-and-a-half.

The Fighting Scots pulled ahead in the 31st minute and led 2-1 with a 7-6 advantage in shots at halftime. Lake Forest out-shot the home team 10-5 in the final 45 minutes but surrendered goals at 58:03 and 81:27.

The loss dropped the Foresters' overall record to 7-4-3 and Midwest Conference mark to 2-1-2. Monmouth improved to 11-3-1 overall and 4-2-0 in the league.

Lake Forest will continue the weekend with a game at Knox College Sunday at 11:00 a.m.
