The Forester women's soccer team won 5-0 at Knox College on
Saturday. Sophomore forward Lisa Sorensen had a goal and two
assists and classmate Bri Schleibinger recorded her sixth career
shutout. Lake Forest is now 2-0-0 overall this season and 1-0-0 in
Midwest Conference play.
After assisting on the first goal and scoring the next two in
Wednesday's 7-0 victory over Concordia University Chicago, Sorensen
scored the first goal and assisted on the next two scores on
Saturday. The game's opening goal at 8:56 was set up by junior
Erica May and senior Bianca Greene and was the only score of the
first half.
May then scored for the first time this season just 55 seconds
into the second half and Greene netted her second goal of the year
at 59:41. Sorensen assisted on both scores and now has nine points
on three goals and as many assists in just two games this season.
Freshman Anya Moran earned her first career point by assisting
sophomore Becky Esrock's first of the year at 66:22. Sophomore
Olivia Davis added her first career goal at 70:30 with senior Emily Weber earning the assist.
Sophomore Bri Schleibinger needed to make just one save to
record her sixth career shutout. She has yet to allow a goal in 135
minutes this season.
Lake Forest will play three times next week, beginning with a
non-conference game at Alverno College Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. The
Foresters will also host Milwaukee School of Engineering at 4:30 on
Thursday and will resume league play at home next Saturday (1:00)
afternoon against Ripon College.
