The Forester women's soccer team held on for a 3-2 Midwest
Conference victory at Grinnell College on Saturday. Junior Mira
Trebilcock scored her second goal of the season in the 75th minute
and it turned out to be the official game-winner.
Lake Forest was out-shot 7-5 in the first half but freshman
Courtenay Raymond scored the period's only goal with 4:38 left on
the clock. It was her third score of the season.
After Grinnell tied the score three minutes and 37 seconds after
halftime, the Foresters regained the lead exactly six minutes later
on senior Bianca Greene's fourth goal of the year. Emily Weber
assisted on the score.
The visitors extended their lead when junior Mira Trebilcock
netted her second goal of the season at the 74:20 mark. The
insurance goal proved valuable when the Pioneers pulled back to
within one with 1:27 to play.
The Foresters out-shot the home team 15-7 in the second half and
20-14 in the contest.
Lake Forest sophomore goalkeeper Bri Schleibinger made a pair of
saves and earned the victory. She and the team are both 9-6-0
overall and 5-1-0 in league play this season.
The Foresters will host Beloit College at 1:00 tomorrow
afternoon.
