The Lake Forest College women's soccer team closed out the month
of October with a 2-0 victory at Illinois College on Saturday
(October 31). The Foresters are now 11-6-0 overall and 6-2-0 in
Midwest Conference play. The Lady Blues fell to 3-13-1 overall and
0-8-0 in league play.
Lake Forest out-shot the home team 9-0 in the first half but was
unable to score.
Forester freshman Becky Esrock
(St. Louis, Mo./Whitfield School) finally put the visitors on the
scoreboard at the 57:12 mark. She was assisted by senior Monica
Thomas (Los Gatos, Calif./Los Gatos). Esrock then put the game
out of reach with her school record-tying 19th goal of the season
with 2:26 remaining in the contest. Junior Bianca
Greene (Santa Monica, Calif./Santa Monica) earned her 13th
assist of the year, matching the third-highest single-season total
in that category in team history.

Schleibinger (Spring Grove, Ill./Richmond Burton) made a pair
of saves to record her fourth shutout of the season. She lowered
her goals against average to 1.54.
The Foresters, who have clinched the #3 seed in next weekend's
(November 6-7) MWC Tournament, will close out the regular season at
Monmouth College tomorrow at noon. Monmouth needs a victory to earn
the fourth and final spot in the tourney, which will be hosted by
league champion Carroll University.
