The Lake Forest College men's golf team began the 2026-27 season with a 12th-place finish at the Transylvania Fall Invite on Saturday and Sunday. The two-day, three-round event was played at the University Club of Kentucky in Lexington.

Jack Lee and Tyler Wengronowitz were the Foresters' top players over the course of the weekend and, finishing at even-par, they were tied-for-22nd among 87 players in the field. Their final score of 216 tied the fifth-best three-round total in team history.

After starting with a 5-over 77 in the opening round, Lee matched his career-best with a 69 in the second and posted a 70 in the third. Highlighting his round two was an eagle on the 481-yard, par-5 fifth hole and he also had 10 birdies on the weekend.

Wengronowitz started with a 71, turned in a 76 in round two, and then closed with a 69 for his seventh career round in the 60s. He was tied-for-10th in the field with a dozen birdies at the tournament.

Tyler Schick was next on the team with a final score of 220 (+4), which tied him for 35th overall. He birdied five of his final six holes for a 72 in round two and was two shots over par in both of the other rounds. 

Tyler Poker's 79 and 76 in the first two rounds also contributed toward the team's four-man score and Andrew Singer fired a 1-under 71 in the final round of his collegiate debut to help the team post the seventh-lowest score in school history at 284 (-4).

The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor won the 17-team event with a final tally of 841 (-23) and three other teams were under par for the tournament. Lake Forest's 878 was good for 12th in the field and third in team annals.

The Foresters will play a pair of rounds at the Aurora Double Gun on Tuesday.
