Lake Forest College men's lacrosse player
Jacob Lipson was named Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Wednesday for his performance in a pair of Forester victories last week.
Lipson made a dozen saves in Wednesday's 15-6 triumph over Benedictine University. Nine of those stops came in the third and fourth quarters as the Foresters outscored the Eagles 10-3 in the second half.
Lake Forest also prevailed 12-9 at the University of Dubuque on Saturday. Lipson made three saves in each of the final three quarters and 10 in the contest to earn the victory.
Among Lipson's saves on Saturday was his 100th of the season and the 200th of his collegiate career. He is now 6-5 with a .545 save percentage and 9.95 goals against average this spring.
NACC Players of the Week are selected by a committee of sports information directors within the league.
