Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Aurora Too Much for Foresters in Fourth Quarter

The Forester men's lacrosse team was defeated 16-10 by Aurora University Wednesday on Mohr Field.

The second goal of the game from senior Ryan Dousevicz pulled Lake Forest to within two at 11-9 early in the fourth quarter. The Spartans, however, accounted for five of the last six scores in the contest to secure the victory and remain undefeated in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference play.

Forester sophomore Aidan Wigton and senior Brendan Herbert joined Dousevicz with two goal performances. Wigton continues to lead the team in that category with 23 on the season while Herbert is second with 16 and Dousevicz tied-for-fourth with 13.

Additional goals for the home team came from sophomores Liam Smith and Jackson Derosia, freshman Milo Closson, and junior Macklin Thomas. Senior Brant Schuckman had a pair of assists.

Aurora scored the first two goals of the game and led throughout. The score was 8-4 at halftime before the Foresters battled back and closed to within two on three different occasions.

Lake Forest junior faceoff specialist Gabe Boston tied a pair of single-game school records. His 21 faceoff wins (against just six losses) matched the mark set by current Forester assistant coach Gordon Kiesgen in 2024 and his 12 ground balls equaled Kiesgen's total on that day and the record originally set by Conor Murphy in 2023.

The loss dropped the Foresters' overall record this season to 7-6 and NACC mark to 6-3. Aurora improved to 10-3 overall and perfect after nine league games.

Lake Forest will celebrate Senior Day, Alumni Daay, and Parents Day on Saturday when the team hosts Cornell College on Farwell Field at 11:00 a.m.
