Three Foresters recorded hat tricks as the Lake Forest College men's lacrosse team defeated visiting Benedictine University 15-6 on Mohr Field on Wednesday.
The home team took the early lead on a goal from sophomore
Jackson Derosia a little more than two minutes into the contest but the Eagles responded with a pair of scores in the next 70 seconds. Sophomore
Aidan Wigton tied the score with 1:39 remaining and the first quarter ended with the teams knotted at two.
Junior
Carson Pagel gave the Foresters the lead early in the second quarter but Benedictine eventually tied the score again at the 4:26 mark. Derosia struck again to put Lake Forest on top for good and Wigton made the score 5-3 just before halftime.
Pagel netted his second of the day 100 seconds into the third quarter but the lead was back down to two (6-4) a few minutes later. Wigton and Derosia completed their hat tricks later in the period and made it an 8-4 game going into the fourth. Wiston leads Lake Forest with 21 goals this season while Derosia has nine.
Just as in the first three periods, at Forester goal was followed by a score from the Eagles to start the fourth quarter. Lake Forest's was senior Brant Schucman's seventh of the season. Pagel and sophomore
Wells Roney tacked on two more goals apiece and Pagel added a pair of assists in the final 11 minutes. Pagel has nine goals in the team's last two games and 13 on the year while Roney raised his total to eight. Senior
Ryan Dousevicz also scored for the eighth time this spring and freshman
Damon Schuetz for the first time in his collegiate career before Benedictine ended the Foresters six-goal run with the final tally of the day.

Jacob Lipson stopped 12 of the Eagles' 18 shots on goal, including eight in the third quarter and one in the fourth as his team extended its lead.

Liam Bradley led the Foresters with four ground balls, and senior
Judson Norris recorded two caused turnovers to climb into eighth place in program history with 37 in his career.
The victory lifted Lake Forest ablve the .500 mark at 6-5 overall this season and the team improved to 5-2 in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference play. Benedictine fell to 8-4 overall and 4-3 in the league.
The Foresters will travel to the University of Dubuque on Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. contest.
