Lake Forest College women's soccer players
Izzy DeStefano and
Greta Norville were named Midwest Conference Offensive and Defensive Performer of the Week, respectively, on Monday after helping the Foresters win three times last week.
DeStefano racked up 10 points in the three games combined. The senior midfielder assisted on a pair of goals in Tuesday's 4-0 victory at Milwaukee School of Engineering, scored three times in just 30 minutes during Thursday's 8-0 rout of Benedictine University, and set up both Forester goals in a 2-1 triumph at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh on Saturday.
With 33 goals and 87 points in her career, DeStefano now ranks tied-for-eighth in program history in both categories. She has at least two points in all seven of the team's games so far this fall and is now first in the nation with eight assists and third with 20 points.
Norville was in goal for Lake Forest on Tuesday and Saturday. The senior's eight saves at MSOE were the most by a Forester in exactly two years and the highest total in a shutout since late in the 2021 season. Norville made seven more saves on Saturday, including two during the final seven minutes of the contest while maintaining a one-goal lead.
Her 0.50 goals against average and .895 save percentage so far this season are the best marks in the conference.
MWC Performers of the Week are selected by the league's sports information directors. DeStefano has now earned the honor on offense in back-to-back weeks and six times in her career.
