The Lake Forest women's soccer team kept its unbeaten season alive with a 2–1 road victory over North Park on Saturday afternoon in Chicago, improving to 9–0 overall.
Senior Anna Hoffman got the Foresters on the board in the 38th minute, finishing a well-placed setup from sophomore Maggie Balas. Her strike gave Lake Forest the momentum heading into halftime with a 1–0 lead.
After controlling much of the second half, the Foresters extended their advantage in the 72nd minute when senior Izzy DeStefano found the back of the net to make it 2–0. North Park managed to answer less than two minutes later, scoring in the 74th minute to cut the lead in half, but the Foresters stood tall the rest of the way to secure the win.
Lake Forest dictated the run of play throughout the match, outshooting the Vikings 13–9, including an 8–2 edge in shots on goal, and earning a 6–2 advantage in corner kicks. Goalkeeper Greta Norville anchored the defense with a steady 90-minute performance and came up with an important save to help preserve the result.
With the victory, the Foresters remain perfect on the season and will look to keep building momentum when they travel to Knox College next Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. kickoff.
