The Foresters kept their perfect season rolling on Wednesday with a 5–1 win over Carthage at Mohr Field. It didn't take long for Lake Forest to get going as senior Izzy DeStefano buried a goal just 75 seconds in off a pass from junior Ella Lubarsky. A little later, sophomore Maggie Balas added one of her own to send the Foresters into halftime up 2–0.
The second half was all Lake Forest. Sophomore Annabelle Schroeder scored thanks to a setup from senior Anna Hoffman, who then found the back of the net herself with an assist from senior Caitlin Mulcahy. Carthage cut into the lead midway through the half, but the Foresters quickly answered when senior Theresa Presberg connected with Hoffman for her second of the day.
Lake Forest outshot Carthage 19–4 and controlled the game from start to finish. Hoffman ended with two goals and an assist, while DeStefano, Balas, and Schroeder all scored. Senior goalkeeper Joanna Aslanides played all 90 minutes in net, recording two saves to help secure the win.
It was also a big night for the record books. Hoffman is now 5th all-time in both goals and points for the Foresters, while DeStefano moves into 8th all-time in career points.
The win moves Lake Forest to 8–0-0 on the season. The Foresters are back in action this Saturday, September 20, when they travel to North Park for a 2:00 p.m. kickoff in Chicago.
