9/13/2025 4:48:00 PM

The Lake Forest College women's soccer team earned a hard-fought 2–1 victory over UW-Oshkosh on Saturday afternoon at J.J. Keller Field, continuing their strong start to the 2025 season.

The Foresters broke through in the 20th minute when senior midfielder Izzy DeStefano set up senior midfielder Anna Hoffman, who slotted a low shot to the right to give Lake Forest the lead. The duo connected again in the second half, as DeStefano found Hoffman for a high strike to the right side in the 60th minute, doubling the advantage. Hoffman's brace brought her season total to four goals, with DeStefano credited for both assists.

UW-Oshkosh responded in the 80th minute when Jaden LeRoy scored with a low finish to the left corner, but the Foresters' defense remained organized to close out the match. Junior goalkeeper Greta Norville was steady between the posts, making seven saves, including several key stops late to preserve the win.

Statistically, the contest was balanced, with both sides registering 11 shots. Oshkosh put eight of theirs on frame compared to six for Lake Forest, but the Foresters converted efficiently on their chances. Lake Forest also dominated from set pieces, earning an 8–1 advantage in corner kicks. The physical battle saw the Foresters commit five fouls to Oshkosh's four, while neither team was booked. Norville's seven saves compared to four by Oshkosh's keeper proved crucial down the stretch.

Hoffman's performance also moved her up the Forester record book, as she now sits sixth in team history with 39 career goals and 94 career points. DeStefano, meanwhile, has notched two assists in four of the last five matches (with three goals in the other) and is now tied for eighth in program history with 87 career points.

With the 2–1 win, Lake Forest improves its record and continues to build momentum heading into the coming week. The Foresters will return home on Wednesday, September 17, at 4:30 p.m. to host Carthage College at Mohr Field.
