Daniel Tulchinskiy Named 2024-25 D3CA Region IX Male Student Athlete of the Year

The Division III Commissioners Association (D3CA) announced the 20 individuals selected as the 2024-25 Regional Student-Athletes of the Year and recent Lake Forest College graduate Daniel Tulchinskiy, a tennis player, was the male winner in Region IX.

These prestigious awards, now in their fourth year, recognize graduating seniors who have demonstrated excellence in athletics, academics, leadership, and service throughout their collegiate careers.
Chi Alpha Sigma, the National College Athlete Honor Society, serves as the presenting sponsor of these awards.

Each regional winner now advances to the national ballot for the D3CA Men's Sport Student-Athlete of the Year and D3CA Women's Sport Student-Athlete of the Year awards, which will be announced in September.

Graduating seniors were the only student-athletes eligible to be nominated by their conferences. He was recently recognized as the 2024-25 Midwest Conference Athlete of the Year Representing Men's and Mixed Sports and was therefore the MWC's nominee.

Voting took place among commissioners within each of the 10 Division III regions. The top male and female honoree in each region will be considered for the two national awards.

Tulchinskiy played atop the doubles lineup throughout his collegiate career, captured a conference title at that position as a freshman. and earned All-MWC accolades each of the last three seasons. His 68 career doubles victories are the second-highest total in program history and he ranks seventh with 105 wins overall.

An excellent student as well, Tulchinskiy is a three-time Academic All-District® selection by College Sports Communicators, as well as a four-time Academic All-MWC honoree and Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar Athlete. The neuroscience and biology double-major received the College's Fredericka L. Stahl Memorial Award for Excellence in Science and is a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society.

Active on campus and in the community, Tulchinskiy has volunteered with Great Lakes Adaptive Sports Association and in the Emergency Department and served as a research assistant and teacher assistant on multiple occasions. He has also taken on leadership roles on numerous committees and in several organizations on campus.

Tulchinskiy is the first MWC student-athlete to earn the award.
