The Lake Forest College men's tennis program's first appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament ended on Friday with a 4-2 loss to Ohio Northern University in the opening round.
The match was played at Cleveland State University's Medical Mutual Pavilion and began with the Bears earning the double point with victories at the top two spots in the lineup. Forester junior

Five of Lake Forest's six singles players won the first set and junior
Rodrigo Cunha earned the team's first point when he finished off a 6-3, 7-6 (7-5) triumph at #4. The Foresters then took the lead on Espindola's 7-6 (7-5), 6-3 victory at #5. The other four matches each went to a third set and Ohio Northern came out on top at #6, #2, and #3 to win the match. Lake Forest sophomore
Felipe Moraes held a very slight 6-3, 4-6, 6-5 lead at #1 when the contest ended.
The 2025-26 Foresters finished the season with a record of 16-7 and matched the fourth-highest single-season victory total in team history. Ohio Northern improved to 14-8 and will face host Case Western Reserve University in the second round on Saturday.
