5/4/2025 4:49:00 PM

All four Lake Forest players are among the top 25 in the 63-player field and the team is in second place after Sunday's opening round of the three-day St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship Tournament.

Sophomore Tyler Wengronowitz led the Foresters and is tied for second overall with a 2-under 70. After two bogeys and a birdie in his first five holes, Wengronowitz was three shots under par the rest of the way. On the day he was even on the par-3s and par-4s and two under on the par-5s.

Fellow sophomore Tyler Schick was next on the team and is tied-for-sixth in the field after carding three birdies and without a bogey on the back nine to close at even par. His five birdies are tied for the highest total in the field.

Senior Chris Petri finished Sunday three shots over par, one ahead of junior Ben Shamberg and senior Luke Duffer.

Mississippi University for Women leads after day one with a score of 279 (-9). Lake Forest's 293 ranks seventh in program history and is five strokes better than third-place Illinois College.

The top three teams will begin teeing off in the second round Monday at 10:00 a.m. (ET) and Tuesday's third and final round will begin with a shotgun start at that same time. The event is being played on the 6,841-yard, par-72 Timbergate Golf Course in Edinburgh, Indiana.
