After 10 consecutive victories, including two in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Tournament and a dramatic one in Saturday's opening round of the NCAA Division III Tournament, the Lake Forest College women's lacrosse team's winning streak and season came to an end with a 23-4 loss at Denison University on Sunday.
While the game got away from the Foresters early, it was not without highlights. Junior
Daulath Khan scored to make it a 2-1 game less than five minutes into the contest. Classmate
Emma Sharp earned her 79th and final assist of the season to extend her program record in that category. Her 131 points this spring are also the most in team history. Sharp entered the day ranked second in the nation in assists and fourth in points.
Freshman
Avery Srnka netted her sixth tally of the season early in the fourth quarter and senior
Jenna Doctor scored for the 100th time in 2025 later in the period. She added one more to raise her program record total to 101 and she completed her four years at the College as the Foresters' career leader with 260 goals and 302 points.
Lake Forest junior
Shannon Gibbons led the visitors with three ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers in the contest. Senior
Krissy Kuwahara accounted for two of the team's five draw controls and will graduate as the program's career leader in that category (209) and ground balls (179) while ranking second in caused turnovers (103).
All three of the Foresters' goalkeeper saw action in the game with junior
Cecilia Adams making the start and seven saves to finished the year with a school record 123.
Lake Forest was making its third consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament but first in the second round.
The Foresters finished the season 15-5 while Denison will enter the third round of the tournament at 15-4.
