The Midwest Conference announced the 2025 All-MWC Football Teams and major award winners on Friday and 17 Lake Forest College players were recognized for their performance on the field this fall.

Among the Foresters' eight first team selections was MWC Newcomer of the Year James Jordan. The freshman tight end caught 17 passes this season and led all tight ends in the conference with 232 receiving yards and five touchdowns. As a blocker he helped Lake Forest rank second in the league with 204 rushing yards per game. He is the only freshman to be named First Team All-MWC on offense or defense this season, the first Forester freshman to accomplish the feat since 2019, and the program's first MWC Newcomer of the Year since 2021.

In addition to ranking second in the conference in rushing, Lake Forest leads the league with 232 passing yards per game and is second in total yards (436) and points (school record 42.3) per contest, thanks in large part to the play of the offensive line. Vinny Colasacco was named First Team All-MWC for the second year in a row and was joined by fellow senior guard Jake Herstowski, who made that list for the first time. Forester freshman tackle Kennedy Washington received second team accolades. Lake Forest has now had at least three offensive linemen listed among the league's best in five consecutive seasons.

Sophomore Ethan Springer was one of two quarterbacks in the league to be named First Team All-MWC. He leads the conference with a completion percentage of 71.7 percent and a pass efficiency rating of 164.9 with the first mark also breaking the school record and ranking among the top 10 in the nation. He completed 134 of 187 passes for 1,598 yards and 15 touchdowns against just three interceptions. He also rushed for 320 yards and three scores.

The Foresters' leading rusher and receiver were named Second Team All-MWC on Friday. Sophomore running back Vance Cooper carried the ball 97 times for 418 yards and ranked second in the league with 10 rushing touchdowns. Despite missing two full games and parts of two others due to injury, senior wide receiver Tommy Carberry finished the year with a team-high 24 catches and 293 receiving yards.

Lake Forest was just as impressive on defense in 2025, leading the conference by limiting opponents to only 41.6 rushing yards per game and ranking second in the league with just 197 total yards allowed per contest. Forester opponents averaged just 14.3 points per game and were shut out five times.

A significant portion of the team's success came from the line, where senior defensive tackle Michael Kelley was a First Team All-MWC selection and junior end Preston Mosher a second team honoree. Kelley, who was named Second Team All-MWC a season ago, made 29 tackles this fall and tied for ninth in the league with 10.0 tackles for loss from his position as an interior defensive lineman. Mosher finished the year with 31 tackles, including 7.0 tackles for loss and 3.0 sacks, and added a forced fumble and fumble recovery.

All three of Lake Forest's starting linebacker were listed on Friday with senior Charlie Fordon and junior Blake Ware named First Team All-MWC and junior Jackson Sander repeated as a second team selection. They were the team's top three tacklers with Ware making 74 stops, Sander 69, and Fordon 57. Fordon's 15.5 tackles for loss are the eighth-highest single-season total in team history and ranked second in the league this year while his 5.5 sacks were tied-for-third. He also forced one fumble and recovered three. Ware, who also earned First Team All-MWC distinction a season ago, reached double figures in tackles four times in 2025 and his 10.0 tackles for loss tied him with Kelley for ninth in the league. Sander tied for third in the MWC with 13.5 tackles for loss and added an interception, forced fumble, and fumble recovery to his stat line for the year.

The back end of the Forester defense had three Second Team All-MWC honorees on Friday in sophomore safety Kaden Kern and both starting cornerbacks, senior Dematris Azcueta and sophomore Brandon Henderson. Kern finished just behind the three linebackers on the team with 41 tackles and he added two interceptions and tied for the league lead with seven pass breakups. Henderson made 31 tackles and Azcueta 21 and they finished the year with six and four pass breakups, respectively. Both players also picked off a pass and Azcueta chipped in with a forced fumble and fumble recovery.

Lake Forest was also extremely strong in the kicking game this fall, leading to the selection of freshman punter Jacob Gump to the league's first team and sophomore kicker Hudson Schambach to the second. Gump was second in the conference in punting average and his 39.4 yards per attempt is the seventh-highest mark in program history. Schambach was 48-for-50 on extra points and 9-for-12 kicking field goals and his 75 points are the most for a kicker in team annals. His field goal total led the conference and ranks tied-for-second in team history and, by connecting from 46 and 44 yards out, he has already made two of the program's six longest field goals.

The Foresters won their last seven games of the season and finished 7-3 overall and tied for second place in the standings at 7-2 in league play. Their 17 all-conference players are the most in school history.
