1/6/2026 11:06:00 AM

College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced the 2025 Academic All-District® Football Teams on Tuesday and three Lake Forest College players were recognized.

To be eligible for nomination, student-athletes maintain at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale at their current institution and be at least a sophomore academically and athletically. They also must compete in at least 90 percent or start at least two-thirds of their team's contests.

Lake Forest's honorees were junior Blake Ware and sophomores Kaden Kern and Simon Micula.

Ware led the Foresters and ranked seventh in the Midwest Conference with 74 tackles this fall. The linebacker also finished the season with 10.0 tackles for loss, including 2.0 sacks, and a forced fumble and was named First Team All-MWC for the second year in a row. Ware is a finance major who has now been named Academic All-MWC and CSC Academic All-District® twice each. He was also the 2024 MWC Elite 20 Award winner for owning the highest cumulative GPA of anyone on the conference championship team.

In his first season as a starter at safety, Kern led the team with two interceptions and seventh pass breakups and ranked fourth on the squad with 41 tackles. HIs stat line for the year also included 2.5 tackles for loss and a forced fumble. Kern is also a finance major and was an Academic All-MWC honoree last July.

Micula transferred to Lake Forest last spring and appeared in every game in 2025. Forester running backs averaged 6.7 yards per carry when he was on the field and the team matched a program record with 36 rushing touchdowns on the year. He is majoring in business.

Lake Forest has now had at least two players earn Academic All-District® accolades each of the last five seasons.

Select Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® selections will be announced on January 27.
