The Forester cross country teams traveled north of the state line on Saturday for the Warrior Invitational, hosted by Wisconsin Lutheran College at Greenfield Park in West Allis.
 
The Lake Forest men's team finished fifth out of the 10 full squads in the 8 kilometer race. Sophomore Owen Lashenik led the Foresters with a time of 28:21:56, which placed him 11th out of 97 finishers on a hot day. Fellow sophomore Demos Manoukis finished 22nd with a time of 29:26:08 and freshman Oliver Gumerson completed the race in 29th place with a time of 30:08:20. 
 
The Wisconsin Track club had four out the top six runners to claim the victory with 29 points. Lake Forest finished with 141 points. 
 
The women's team was fourth out of the 11 competing teams. Junior Sophie Graham led the way and finished third overall out of 88 finishers. She crossed the 6-kilometer finish line with a time of 24:44:20. Also finishing in the top five was fellow junior Lettia Hoda with a time of 24:57:20.
 
As it did in the men's race, the Wisconsin Track Club was atop the team standings and had three out of the top four finishers. They had just 34 points while the Foresters' total was 102. 
 
The cross country teams will be back competing in two weeks, when they head to Rock Island, Illinois, to run in the Augustana Interregional Invite.
