10/31/2026 5:43:00 PM

The Forester women's cross country team placed sixth and the men seventh at the Midwest Conference Championship Meet on Saturday. The event was at Beloit Country Club in Beloit, Wisconsin.

Lake Forest's Lettia Hoda and Demos Manoukis were among the 20 runners in each race to earn All-MWC honors.

Hoda's 12th-place finish in the women's 6K, which featured 112 competitors, was the highest by a Forester since 2021 and her time of 23:16 ranks 24th in program history. The senior also became just the fifth female runner in team history to earn all-conference honors three times.

Manoukis finished 19th out of 149 runners in the men's 8K and his time of 26:41 is the fastest of his career by more than 50 seconds. He joins teammate Owen Lashenik, who finished 13th in the league a season ago, as the men's team's only all-conference performers since 2019.

Sophie Graham was next on the women's team and in 36th place overall with a season-best time of 24:26. Eleanor Clark was 40th in a career-best 24:48 and Gabriela Tamamidis 50th in 25:12. Amelia Long completed the team's top five and finished in the top half of the field in 55th with a time of 25:23.

Ripon College was the team champion on the women's side with 48 points, edging out runner-up Cornell College by just two points and third-place Grinnell College by 18. Lawrence University (99) and Luther College (121) were also ahead of the Foresters, whose score of 171 points was 25 fewer than seventh-place Illinois College.

Lashenik was the men's team's second runner and finished 70th overall in 28:22 while Khalil Crosby was just three seconds and three places behind him. Oliver Gumerson and Jack Funker finished off Lake Forest's top five.

The Grinnell men also tallied 48 points to win the men's race. Lawrence (60) and Luther (64) were not far behind while Ripon (96) and Cornell (103) rounded out the top five. Lake Forest's 212 points were 26 more than sixth-place Monmouth College and 22 ahead of Illinois College in eighth.

Select Foresters will be in action again in two weeks at the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional Meet in Rock Island, Illinois.
